About this course
Many people in ministry are increasingly aware of the issues involved in running a staff team. Sometimes it is said that running a staff team can provide the greatest joys, and also greatest challenges.
Learning to lead others well is a wonderful opportunity to love and serve, to enhance and improve the effectiveness of your ministry and also to reinforce our desire to make disciple making disciples.
This course has been developed in line with the latest thinking and resources to help you progress on your journey as leader and manager of people, focussing on key skills and behaviours to lead staff or lay leaders in a way that reinforces the desire to make disciples.
The course outline includes:
- Staff Planning, Structure and Culture
- The Legal Obligations of an Employer
- The Recruitment Process
- Performance Management & Staff Development
- Managing Under-performance & the Disciplinary Process
The objective is for participants to disciple, encourage, develop, assess and review staff well.
Participants should expect to engage in reflective exercises and role plays to deepen their understanding of the course content.
You will have opportunities to practice interviewing skills, giving difficult feedback and will hear from experienced practitioners. Participants will also be equipped with various templates and tools to help lead staff within a Christian context.
