Leading Forward - 26 February 2026, Sydney NSW
Energising and aligning the church through vision and strategy
Date: Thursday 26 February 2026
Location:Sydney CBD , NSW
Format: All-day workshop, 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM (approx)
Why this workshop?
Many churches sense the need to move forward but struggle to name where they are going or how to bring people with them. Vision can feel abstract, strategy overwhelming, and alignment elusive.
Leading Forward focuses on the leader’s role in shaping clear direction. Rather than producing a finished strategic plan, this workshop helps leaders develop the thinking, language, and processes needed to guide vision, set priorities, and lead people with clarity and confidence.
This is a workshop about how leaders lead direction, not a shortcut to a completed strategy document.
What this workshop focuses on
Participants will explore how leaders:
Lead the creation of shared vision and strategic direction
Think strategically in complex ministry contexts
Shape alignment between purpose, priorities, and people
Communicate direction clearly and consistently
The emphasis is on strategic thinking and leadership practice, not on producing detailed plans or managing organisational change processes.
What you’ll explore
The role of the leader in vision casting and strategic thinking
Strategic planning approaches and tools, and how to discern best fit for your context
The spiritual and practical stages of vision and strategy formation
Why good intentions often fail to translate into sustained direction
What you’ll gain
By the end of the day, participants will be able to:
Think strategically by pausing to dream, reflect, and see the bigger picture
Lead teams through a collaborative and engaging visioning process
Recognise the difference between clarity of direction and detailed planning
Strengthen alignment between vision, priorities, and leadership decisions
Communicate direction in ways that build understanding and shared ownership
Who this is for
Senior leaders, ministry leaders, boards, and leadership teams who are sensing the need for clearer direction and stronger alignment — particularly those at an early or reflective stage of visioning and strategy.
This workshop is especially helpful before engaging in formal strategic planning or facilitated strategy processes.
